A travelling tea case
Finds No. 2. The evening ritual, packed for any hotel room.
Hotel rooms are designed for sleep, but they rarely feel like home at the end of a long day. The fastest way we know to change that is to put the kettle on with your own tea, in your own cup. A small travelling tea case makes it effortless.
What goes in ours
- A slim tin of three or four caffeine-free blends. Chamomile, rooibos and lemon balm travel beautifully. Pre-portion loose leaf into small paper filters to save space.
- A collapsible or compact infuser. Hotel tea bags are fine. Your own leaves are better.
- A small, sturdy cup. A favourite enamel or double-walled cup with a lid survives any suitcase.
- A battery tealight. Many hotels don’t allow open flames, and a flicker of soft light makes all the difference.
- A little honey. A few individual sachets, tucked in a corner.
- A paperback. For the chapter you read while it steeps.
What to look for in the case itself
- A firm shell or padded lining, so nothing crushes in an overhead bin.
- Small, labelled compartments for each blend.
- A size that fits in a carry-on with room to spare.
- Something beautiful enough that opening it feels like the start of a ritual.
Why we love it
It makes the Lamplight Pot portable. Wherever the day ends, the evening can still begin the same way. It also makes a wonderful gift for anyone who travels for work.
